From ride guides to pro riders, Madison ambassadors all have one thing in common; a love of getting out on two wheels in all weathers.
Testing our kit to the limit – and sometimes beyond – their feedback and creativity pushes us to make the best possible apparel for the worst possible conditions.
Adam Blythe
Ex-professional road cyclist-turned-pundit Adam Blythe doesn’t need too much of an introduction. Road racer turned gravel rider, Adam loves to mix up the disciplines and enjoy the fun side of cycling once more.
“My go-to is the Roam Merino Jersey, I’ve used it on a couple of multi day gravel rides and it’s super comfy with a more relaxed fit than other jerseys. It works well on the road too but the gravel bike is where it really shines!”
Where to begin with Kerry! Mountain biker and Aberfoyle queen of the gravel, Kerry has traversed the toughest trails the UK has to offer. Having raced XC and multi gravel epics, Kerry has certainly put our kit through its paces.
Phil is a professional mountain bike guide for MTB Cymru. His office is the beautiful scenery of mid-Wales, where the challenging terrain and long rides demand reliable, comfortable kit.
“Living and working in mid Wales means that the weather can be pretty changeable from one hour to the next, so having the right kit on the mountain is essential.
“My go-to when it turns really nasty is the DTE Storm Jacket, and the name says it all! Close fitting so it doesn’t flap in the wind, two long pockets for ease of access with a pack, a great hood that covers my lid keeping the worst of the rain out. Then when the sun does come back out, super breathable. But what I like most is the no frills design, straight cut, no flappy straps or gimmicks. It just works.”
Glasgow based mountain biker Stevie Stanway is always up for a big day out on the bike! Stevie isn’t one to be deterred by the weather and you can find him out rain or shine and absolutely everything in-between.
“I’m always up for riding bikes in some of the filthiest of weather that the Scottish winter has to throw at me. The gear that allows me to do this all winter in the worst of conditions is the DTE 3-layer storm waterproof jacket mixed with the DTE 3-layer trousers.”
Jack Carthy is a 10-times Trials World Champion; what he can’t do on a bike we’re fairly sure can’t be done. Jack constantly pushes the limits of what’s possible on a bike whether that’s his trials bike or e-bike. Being light nimble is key for Jack and his clothing choices revolve around this.
“My favourites have to be Flux jackets and pants as they are so light but still amazing. Also, the Roam shorts have a really nice fit and are lightweight so perfect for trials riding.”
Tim is a Madison Clothing kit tester and ambassador based just outside of the Peak District and spends (almost) every available minute out on two wheels.
